Grandparents To Be!!!!

Whoo-hoo!!!  Truly, it is hard to believe that Bree and Bryce are going to have a baby.   I never looked this far down the road.  Are we really that old?  I hear that it is better than being parents and we are so excited to find out if that rumor is true.  Thank you to our kids for blessing us with such great news.  We love you!  Sorry that you are so sick Bree, but I can assure you that it is all worth it. :)
(I am a little late posting this and I am sure that most everyone already knows the wonderful news.)

Bailey's First Sewing Project

It's pretty sad that my girls haven't had a mom who knows how to sew.  Pathetic, I know.  My family is lucky if their missing buttons get sewed back on.  :)   A few months ago the Young Women in our ward sewed skirts for one of their projects.  Bailey doesn't turn twelve until the first part of February so she didn't get to be involved.  But, we have a wonderful Young Women's leader, Tami Jones, who insisted that we get Bailey some fabric and one afternoon she helped Bailey sew her own skirt.  Bailey did most of the work with Tami telling her what to do.  I was a bit jealous, I must say.  I love the fabric Bailey picked out.  It was quite a chore picking the fabric, there were too many to choose from!!  Thank you Tami and way to go Bailey!

Happy Birthday Brent!

I am very blessed to be married to my best friend.
Happy 48th Birthday grandpa-to-be!
You have been through the fire with me
and we have both survived.
Thanks for sticking it out.  I love you.

One of these years all your hard work WILL pay off
and you WILL have your dream.

How can you not love that mug?  :)
(Brent...not the fish.)

This morning I got the grand idea to make Brent gourmet cupcakes and take them to work.  I rushed to the store for the ingredients, rushed home, rushed mixing the ingredients together, rushed them into the oven...and forgot to put in the sour cream.  I was so ticked.  Flat Coconut Pecan cupcakes just don't cut it for a birthday.  So off to the store again and I began the process all over only this time I made the Chocolate Coconut Almond.  I didn't mess up this time and so I calmed down.  Brent said they were a major hit at the hospital, so I guess all the time and effort paid off.  Anything for my husband.  :)

Bored on Sundays? Try this...

I was looking back on some pictures and found this treasure. Back when the kids were young it was so difficult finding things they could do on Sunday. One Sunday afternoon Brent and I were at our neighbors visiting and Dani, Braydon, and Bailey showed up at the door looking like this- rubber band faces! I still laugh looking at it. So if you or your kids are ever bored, try it. You may find yourselves laughing. Oh... it does pinch a bit. :) Click on the image to get a really good look!  I love the memories.Bailey wanted and update, so here you go!

Windstorm, Stud Husband, & Halloween

Last week we had a pretty big storm come through and demolish our fence.
So, Brent gets in his "man clothes" and goes to work. We make jokes all the time about his overalls with the tucked in flannel shirt, but you know Brent- he likes what he likes and doesn't care what anyone else thinks. He's all about comfort before fashion, unlike the Gardner girls. :)
Brent finished his studly man chores and was wearing his attire as the trick or treaters started coming. He answered the door for the first family that came by and told the young kids how cute they were and commented on what their costumes were. Then the mom asked her kids, "Do you know what he is dressed up as?" We couldn't stop laughing. She had no idea that his wasn't a costume! Funny thing is, Brent will still continue to wear his "halloween costume" all year long.

The He-man in the doorway of his man-shed. :)

I just don't get into the pumpkin carving. It is usually Brent's thing with the kids but he is incredibly busy with school and work, so Dani had some fun with her friend Sarah and Bailey.

I just sat back and watched the fun. I honestly cannot remember the last time I carved a pumpkin. Maybe next year...

Dani and Sarah went to the Institute Halloween party dressed as Dead Prom Dates. I couldn't stop laughing.

I love how Dani edited this picture.

She is even cute ugly and dead!

They can certainly put on a show. (Dani's dress isn't really that short- she's holding up the dress for some leg shots!)

Bailey was an awesome gypsy this year. She pulled it together the day before Halloween and she did a great job. I love it Bailey!

Mall Fun

We were taking pictures at a Halloween store in the mall and one of the workers came and told us that we needed to stop or leave the store. He then pointed out a sign that said no photos were allowed. We hadn't seen it and then later realized it was in the photo we took right before he asked us to stop.

This mask is a bit freaky. Perfect for our Dani!

This is my "Mod Squad" photo.

Dani went on the hunt for the perfect pair of jeans. I finally had to pound on the dressing room door and threaten to take her life if she didn't come out!

Braydon parked it while waiting for Dani. Not too happy!

This is what Dustin was going to do to Dani if she didn't come right now!
