Dani, Bailey & Cousin Toni - Family Reunion 2009

Update on the HCG Diet

I have found that I am completely grumpy when I can't eat. Brent is just trying to put up with me. So, two weeks down and one to go. I have lost 12 pounds! I am able to wear some clothes that I haven't worn in a year. My goal is still at least 15 pounds. I had plateaued for five days and so I had to do the "six apples" day. That's all you can eat. Totally grumpy yesterday. I am still able to keep up my five miles on the treadmill. I had heard that you don't have enough energy but so far I have been okay. The things we do to feel good :)

Hurray for Dina!

Okay, so I am on this crazy three week extreme diet called HCG and I have lost ten pounds in eight days! My goal is between fifteen and twenty pounds during the twenty one days. I will post how it goes. It is pretty dang hard but I am so excited!

Dina's Lagoon Sky Coaster Experience

So this picture was taken right before my insanity set in and I agreed to go on the Sky Coaster because Lynn offered to pay for it if I would. I did not know what I was in for!
(So Bailey just read this post and informed me that THIS is the "after" picture!
I am looking a little too excited. Hmm...do I enjoy terror?)

Here is a description of the ride:

Skycoaster:
The launch tower is 153 feet (47 m) tall and the main arch is 173 feet (53 m) tall. The flyers, up to 3 at a time, are raised up to a height of 143 feet (44 m). When they are instructed to do so, one of the flyers pulls the rip cord and then the flyers drop rapidly, reaching speeds up to 80 miles per hour (130 km/h) and experiencing sensations similar to hang gliding and skydiving.
Ready to go. Nervous as heck but hiding it with a smile.
They give you like a two second instruction blurb. I had to keep telling them to repeat it!

I am the little dot and I was saying over and over, "Oh Crap!"
"What the heck was I thinking!"

We don't have an "after" picture but I can assure you that I was unsteady and shaking.
Quite an experience and I think I would do it again.
It is fun to know that I am almost 46 years old but I can still rock!

Dina & Bailey's Utah Trip- Lagoon

The start of our Lagoon day. No one is tired at this point.

I don't remember what ride this is but Abbey definitely looks nervous.
I was probably laughing.
The ride "Wicked" that no one ended up going on.
I was with a bunch of whimps and I didn't want them to have to wait.
Next year for sure.

I talked Abbey into going on a ride that she and Bailey didn't want to go on.
This is right before it started.
It was actually scarier than I remembered
but I couldn't stop laughing and she couldn't stop screaming. :)

Dina & Baileys Utah Trip- Family Cabin

We took the girls to the Conference Center and Church Museum. Loved it!
Lynn and Dina
Abbey and Bailey
Fun afternoon at the park.

I think they are in the right place, don't you?
This is at Bear Park. (Appropriately named)
Who knew you could have so much fun on a big rock bear.
Trouble getting down.

These two were so much fun to watch. Loads of energy and personality.
Lynn Allred my best friend for twenty years. Are we really that old?
This picture was taken at Alta Ski Resort which is just a few miles up the canyon from our cabin. This is June remember, but it was cold!!
We have a couple of cabins that have swings
and Bailey and Abbey spent a lot of time having fun on them.

This swing as actually been there since I was little.
The top of Little Cottonwood Canyon. The weather was awesome.
Not what you would expect in the middle of the summer.
Bailey and Abbey at Alta Ski Resort
These two are seven months apart and have grown up together.
Best friends like their mothers!
Bailey and Abbey
Bailey on the big rock. This used to seem so huge to us when we lived there.
The creek was out of control this year. I don't know how my mom raised six little kids with this creek right at the end of our driveway. My anxiety would have been off the charts!

Our cabin is directly behind the girls.
